AIDSLINE

The AIDSLINE (TM) (AIDS Literature Online) File is a bibliographic database produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). The database covers the biomedical, epidemiological, health care administration, oncological, and social and behavioral sciences aspects of AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) literature. Citations in AIDSLINE are derived from the MEDLINE (R), CANCERLIT (R), HEALTH PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION, CATLINE (R), and AVLINE (R) databases. Meeting abstracts from the Annual Meetings of the American Society of Microbiology, the International Conferences on AIDS, and the Symposia on Nonhuman Primate Models of AIDS are also included in AIDSLINE.

The records contain bibliographic information, controlled terms, chemical names, and CAS Registry Numbers (R), when available. Abstracts taken directly from the referenced published articles are included in more than half of the records. Over 87% of the articles referenced are written in English.

AIDSLINE contains three online thesauri: in the Chemical Name (/CN) field, the Controlled Term (/CT) field, and the MeSH Tree Number (/MN) field.
