Hazardous Substances Data Bank (HSDB)

HSDB (Hazardous Substances Data Bank) is a factual, nonbibliographic database from the Toxicology Information Program of the National Library of Medicine. It contains information on toxicology and the environmental effects of chemicals. Related areas of data include emergency handling procedures, environmental impact, human exposure, detection methods, manufacturing and use information, and regulatory requirements. Data are derived from standard texts and monographs, government documents, technical reports, and primary journal literature. References are identified for all data sources.

The records in this file contain factual information including substance identification, i.e., chemical name, structure diagram, and CAS Registry Number; safety and handling procedures; standards and regulations; and chemical and physical properties.
