Top 20 Countries’ Science Production Status

The research project entitled “Investigation of the status of scientific production of the World’s top 20 countries” was done in RICeST aiming at analyzing the science production status of the world’s top 20 countries in comparison with each other and worldwide. In this project, using the data available at ESI from the years 1998-2008, the top 20 countries were identified based on the number of due citations. Then, the scientific status of each country was thoroughly investigated in relation to countries and topical fields during the decade of 1998-2008. Furthermore, a comparison was made of the scientific status of these top 20 countries in each topical domain during two five-year spans of 1998-2002 and 2004-2008.
