Computational Linguistics Research Department

This research department, founded in 1999, primarily endeavors to bridge the two broad areas of Computational Linguistics and Information Science and Technology by proposing and implementing different basic and practical research projects. Here are some of the main objectives of this group:

ü    Carrying out research projects and studies in the area of information science and technology while taking advantage of the latest developments in Computational Linguistics.

ü    Mechanizing indexing and abstracting for analyzing the scientific information available in Iran and regional countries.

ü    Studying machine translation using  foundlings in computational linguistics.

ü     Studying and removing search problems using the knowledge in the area of Computational Linguistics.

ü    Analyzing information retrieval by the use of findings in the domain of Lexical Semantics.

ü    Compiling different dictionaries and thesauri for specific areas of  knowledge.
